The Cultural Interpretation Centre is adjacent to the Arts Centre in the Town Square. The Centre houses the Town’s Archaeology Exhibit. Guides are onsite during the summer to interpret artefacts uncovered during archaeological excavations of French and English forticiations in Placentia.
The Centre is also the home of the Voices of Placentia Bay Exhibit. This exhibit is a celebration of singers, musicians and storytellers from Placentia Bay and explores how the old songs and old stories have been preserved and passed down by the tradition bearers from generation to generation. The exhibit includes slideshows, music, videos and biographical information. There are also interactive components where visitors can play music, tell their own story, sing their own song or even answer trivia.

Guided tours are available during the summer season, Monday to Friday 9-4 & Saturday and Sunday 10-5. Tours can be arranged off season by contacting 709-227-2787 or emailing voices@placentia.ca
